U.S. Citizenship Filing Fees Are Going UP, UP and UP.

Posted by Richard J. Tasoff | Aug 01, 2020 | 0 Comments

Have you been thinking about getting American citizenship through an application for naturalization but have been putting it off?

Time to think about applying now before the government filing fees increase becomes effective on October 2, 2020!  The fee increase is a 82% hike to a total of $1,200.

Oh, other things to know, the Citizenship and Immigration Service has been tougher than ever on applicants for citizenship.  Waiting times have become longer. The Citizenship and Immigration Service may close for lack of funds.   But these things will likely still  be true after the fee increase so don't delay if you qualify.

Don't know if you qualify?  Visit the government's site at www.uscis.gov/citizenship or contact an immigration attorney for a consultation.   If you have any criminal record then contact an immigration attorney and skip the government's website.
